During the years 1525-1527, Michelangelo sculpted the tomb of the young Duke Giuliano de 'Medici, who was killed by the hands of men to 25 years in the cathedral of Florence. Michelangelo expands on the sarcophagus the figures of the day or night, and wrote:
"day and night speak and say in our rapid course we drove to the Duke's death Julien. It is just that he takes revenge. His vengeance is in that now that we killed, we stole the light and closed his eyes closed ours ... "
